[WE ARE SEEKING:]
In the field of electrical and electronic engineering, it is strongly expected that information technology and artificial intelligence will spread among industries that have not yet benefited from automation and autonomous optimization and thereby improve productivity in those industries. We recruit candidates with advanced technical research skills in one of the three research fields described below who aim to make the results of their research available for practical applications that will benefit society.

Research in any of the three fields below in electrical and electronics engineering
◆ Research field 1: Embedded systems
Embedded systems use compact hardware to realize sophisticated recognition and intelligent processing functions. They are widely incorporated as components in vehicles, robots, manufacturing equipment, etc. Embedded systems dramatically enhance functionality and energy savings in social infrastructure and products.

◆Advanced smart sensing:
The field of future sensing device based on state-of-the-art materials with excellent intelligence and sophisticated principles that express new physical properties, leading to apply for environmental sensing, biological information collection, real space recognition and so on. Moreover, the field contributing to create values in the range of electronics by data expression in unexplored field that has so far been out of target by present sensing.

◆ Research field 3: Electromagnetic wave applications
A field that applies phenomena expressed by the interaction between electromagnetic waves (microwave, millimeter wave, terahertz wave) and periodic structure substances to communications (such as 5th generation or later mobile communication systems) and energy.

2. Scope of Duties: Upon appointment, the successful applicant will belong to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Institute for the Promotion of University Strategy and conduct his/her own research. He/She will also be in charge of lectures and supervision of student research in such a way that does not interfere with his/her research activities. Furthermore, he/she will be assigned administrative duties with due consideration to allowing time for research activities.

Benefits

The selected applicant will be employed as a full‒time faculty member. Salary and benefits will be based on the Kyoto Institute of Technology salary scale, and will be commensurate with age, qualifications and experience.
