[Explanation of the Assignment]
The Professor or Associate Professor is to take care of the Measurement and Evaluation Technology Laboratory in the Chair of Earth Resources Engineering. The missions of the Laboratory of Measurement and Evaluation Technology are to develop (1) the competent techniques to effectively and intentionally increase the exploitability of earth resources and energy, (2) the non-destructive testing and evaluation techniques to efficiently manage and utilize the resources which had already been developed.
The major of successful candidates is petroleum engineering, hydrogeosciences, engineering geology, measurement and evaluation technology, reservoir simulation or any other geoscientific fields dealing with the fluid behavior in the crust necessary to exploit hydrocarbon resources such as petroleum, natural gas, or deep-sourced geothermal energy for intensive use of crustal resources.
The activity missions of the Laboratory are closely related to those of the other earth resources engineering laboratories: “Geophysics Laboratory" and “Earth Crust Engineering Laboratory" in the Department of Civil and Earth Resources Engineering, and “Environmental Geosphere Engineering Laboratory" and "Earth and Resource System Laboratory" in the Department of Urban Management. The laboratory of “Measurement and Evaluation Technology", therefore, is expected to collaborate with these laboratories for the education and researches conducted in the Department of Civil, Earth Resources and the Department of Urban Management, and the Undergraduate School of Global Engineering, and for the management of their school duties.

To be determined in accordance with Kyoto University regulations.
Full-time employment in a discretionary work system, based on 7 hours, 45 minutes (8:30-17:15 work schedule with a one-hour break) per day, 38 hours 45 minutes per week.
Saturday, Sunday, National holidays, Year-end and New Year holidays, Foundation Day, and Summer vacation.
Six months in accordance with the regulations of Kyoto University.

Tenured until the retirement age defined by the regulations of Kyoto University.
Eligible for MEXT* mutual aid association membership,
employment insurance, and workers' compensation insurance.
