The Research Institute for Radiation Biology and Medicine (RIRBM) at Hiroshima University invites applications for an assistant Professor. RIRBM has engaged in wide range of research concerning radiation biology and medicine since its establishment in 1961. In addition to the study of acute and late effects of ionizing radiation by the atomic bombing or by other radiation exposures, we have been involved in the development of effective diagnosis and treatment of patients with from radiation diseases, the establishment of radiation defense system, and so on. RIRBM has been promoting collaborative utilization and cooperative research as a core center of “Research base for Radiation accidents and Medical Science".
Hiroshima University has been assigned by the Nuclear Regulation Authority as “Advanced radiation emergency medical support center" and “Nuclear emergency medical support center", and is contributing to the establishment of the nationwide medical care system for the nuclear-power disaster.
We are seeking an academic talent with strong interest in the field of radiation epidemiology and/or biostatistics. It is desirable that applicants have a skill in programming of statistical software for analysis. The successful applicant is expected to be engaged in education and research on health effect of radiation among atomic bomb survivors and other exposed populations using biostatistical and/or epidemiological approach as well as to promote the nationwide medical care system for the nuclear-power disaster.

[Work Hours]
If you are agreeable to the application of the Discretionary Labor System for Professional Work, you are deemed to work for 7 hours and 45 minutes a day and 38 hours and 45 minutes a week. If not, working hours are from 8:30 to 17:00 (from Monday to Friday) and break time is from 12:00 to 12:45.
[Holiday]
Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays in principle.
