Research area: Animal Development & Physiology, Biological Sciences
We are looking for a self-motivated and passionate researcher who can conduct academic research, as an Assistant Professor (five-year tenure-track position), on the processes of wound healing and regeneration of body parts in mice at cellular and molecular levels in comparison with those in the newt, an amphibian referred to as a master of regeneration, contributing to understanding of newt's regenerative ability as well as to its application to human medicine. He/she will belong to the Faculty of Life and Environmental Sciences and engage him/herself in research (mentioned above) and education on the area of Animal Development & Physiology, especially on the field of regeneration biology or regenerative physiology, in both graduate (Biological Sciences, Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences) and undergraduate (College of Biological Sciences, School of Life and Environmental Sciences) programs.
The successful applicant will be in charge of research guidance of graduate students (Master's and Doctoral Programs of Biological Sciences, Graduate School of Life and Environmental Sciences) as well as education at both graduate and undergraduate schools.
Starting date: From the earliest possible date before March 31, 2020
Salary and allowances will be provided in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University of Tsukuba. Discretionary labor system based on 7 hours 45 minutes working hours in a day and 5 days working in a week. The holiday is Saturday, Sunday, national holiday, December 29 - January 3. Commuting allowance is provided. MEXT Mutual Aid Association membership. Health insurance and unemployment insurance are covered.Other details follow the regulation of the University of Tsukuba.
