Associate Professor or Associate Professor(Lecturer): Fixed-term appointments will be for up to 5 years. Reappointment may be possible for one additional term of up to 5 years. The total term is limited to a maximum of 10 years from the original date of employment. Tokyo Institute of Technology has a tenure track system, and a fixed-term Associate Professor or Associate Professor (Lecturer) may have the opportunity to qualify for a tenure-track position. We welcome applications from those who have sufficient achievements and challenging spirit to proceed further with the tenure assessment.
The Institute is currently planning to introduce a new annual salary system in response to new, relevant guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology, which are expected to be announced in the future. Due to this transition to the new system, the salary will be determined as follows.

Monthly salary system based on the Regulations on Wage and Salary of the Institute.

Note: Applicants currently working at other national universities, etc. who have Shokei Staff status (keisho shokuin) and receive an annual salary will be employed under the Institute's current yearly salary system (Regulations on Wage and Salary for Staff under the Annual Salary System).
