The Prefectural University of Kumamoto (PUK), founded in 1949, consists of three faculties—the Faculty of Letters, the Faculty of Environmental & Symbiotic Sciences, and the Faculty of Administrative Studies—and the three corresponding graduate schools. About 2,200 undergraduate and graduate students are enrolled. PUK is compact, allowing for easy communication between students and faculty.

Courses to be assigned: Pre-seminar, Moyaist Global classes (new), Readings in British Literature, History of British Literature, Seminar in British Literature, Special Research in British Literature, etc.; Special Lecture on British Literature (Master's Degree Program; on hiring or in the future)
Miscellaneous administrative duties, together with active support for the Center of International Education and Exchange.
