The Faculty of Political Science and Economics at Waseda University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions (at the rank of associate professor) in economics, beginning in April or September 2020. We seek promising junior researchers with the potential to make significant contributions to their field.
The appointment is for an initial period of three years, with a possible extension of two years after an interim review that takes place during the second or third year. Tenure may be granted at any time after the second year of the years on the tenure-track if deemed appropriate in the tenure review.
Waseda University, founded in 1882, is a leading private research university located in central Tokyo. The Faculty of Political Science and Economics has offered English-based degree programs both at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2010.
･Salary and allowances
Salary and allowances will be paid in accordance with the regulations of the University.
･Working days and hours
Scheduled work days and working hours (starting/finishing times; rest periods) are based on University regulations. As the University adopts a discretionary labor system for its faculty members, decisions on the means of execution of work and the allocation of time shall be entrusted to the employee's discretion in consideration of the nature of research work.
Employees shall join schemes for employee's pension, health insurance, labor insurance, and employment insurance.
