4. Employment status
The initial appointment is for five years. After passing a review, the researcher may be employed for an additional five years. The researcher may be appointed to a tenured Assistant Professor position after passing a review toward the end of the second five-year term. Compensation is determined by the regulations of Hokkaido University (http://www.hokudai.ac.jp/jimuk/reiki/reiki_honbun/u010RG00000447.html).
