Position: Assistant Professor of Computer Science & General Education

Overview of Position:
We seek an experienced instructor of Computer Science who can also contribute to Temple's Gen Ed program. The primary role is to teach Computer and Information Sciences classes at a variety of levels. We prioritize active and collaborative learning, and this position requires a demonstrated record of effective teaching in and outside the classroom. We are particularly interested in those who can help build the Computer and Information Sciences 2+2 program in conjunction with our main campus counterparts, and oversee the Computer and Information Sciences classes at the Japan Campus. Candidates must understand the special challenges of teaching in an international context.
The core teaching load is six courses a year, generally two in each of the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters.
Candidates must be willing to contribute service to the University, particularly through membership on faculty committees. We expect our faculty to be active in their creative or research field outside the classroom, and/or contribute to the advancement of `teaching and learning' in their field.
Period: Starting from January 2020 (Spring semester 2020)
Visa Requirement: Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) is able to sponsor a visa for this position.
Salary & benefit: In accordance with the pay scale determined and used in this program. Support is also offered for conferences, travel, and other research/creative related expenses.
