The candidate who has been screened based on the procedure "Leading Initiative for Excellent Young Researchers (LEADER)" by MEXT/JSPS. (The screening result has been announced on early July, 2019).
Then the selected candidate will be employed based on the procedure of National Institute for Materials Science.
[Excellent Young Researcher R19-13 Materials science]
NIMS is recruiting researchers from a wide range of fields on materials science (Materials Engineering (structural materials, ceramics, nanoparticles and powders), Applied Physics (device materials, compound semiconductor, sensor, battery materials, magnetic materials, nanomaterials), Materials Chemistry (inorganic materials, organic materials, biomaterials), Materials data science), etc. Researchers from any fields are accepted as long as their research is related to the materials. Applicants may have expertise in both fundamental and applied research. We welcome applicants from outside Japan and applicants who have corporate experience. We are recruiting researchers who can engage in the world-class, next-generation materials research.
Start-up fund up to 10 million yen is available depending on the research plan at the time of arrival.

Retirement age 60.
* Reemployment system after retirement in which the retiree is reemployed until the age of 65 if he/she wishes so is in place.
Standard system: 7 hours 45 minutes. *The flextime system and the discretionary work system are in place.
Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays (December 29 to January 3), annual paid leave, summer holidays, maternity leave, special leave for marriages and funerals, and other types of leave as specified in the rules of the institute.
