The following collaborative studentships have been approved by ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership for Wales (DTP):
- Communicating Biosecurity Advice to Farmers: What are the Challenges and What Works?
- Well-being and National Planning Policy: Evaluating the implementation of the Well-being of Future Generations Act in Wales
Studentships are available as either ‘1+3’ (ie one full time year of research training Masters followed by three years of full-time doctoral study, or the part-time equivalent), or ‘+3’ (ie three years of full-time doctoral study or its part-time equivalent), depending on the needs of the applicant.

Full awards (fees plus maintenance stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students who can satisfy UK residency requirements.
Applicants are welcomed with a background in a range of social sciences, including: urban and regional planning, human geography, public policy, and political science. These studentships are ‘collaborative’ awards. Applicants should take careful consideration of the working title and description of the project, and may wish to contact the named supervisor for a discussion prior to applying.
