Long-term Fellowships in Wallonia-Brussels, Belgium - BEWARE (MSCA COFUND) - 2nd Call now open!


In order to promote the mobility of researchers to Belgium, the SPW research has set up a new mechanism to finance their reception in Wallonia/Wallonia-Brussels Federation: the programme "BEWARE (BElgian WAllonia REsearcher) Fellowships 2". The objective is to attract 75 high qualified researchers to Wallonia / Brussels in an innovative project to boost his / her career as well as the research and the economy in Wallonia and Brussels and to enhance the visibility of Wallonia at the international level, creating long term international collaboration.

The second call is now open and will close on 16t October 2020. Proposals are to be submitted online at noon (Brussels time).

All nationalities are considered. Researchers must not have resided in Belgium more than 12 months, on a professional basis, over the last 36 months, at the time of submission.

The researcher must hold a doctorate or demonstrate equivalent research experience (with a minimum of 4 years).

Eligible host units are: all Walloon companies with one accredited research center or one French-speaking university or one French-speaking university college.

The researcher will have a 18 to 36 months contract and will perform 50% of his/her time in a company and 50% in a research center or a university or a higher education institution.

All research topics are eligible, bottom up based and must demonstrate an innovative aspect and / or enable technology transfer.

The global funding is about €20 million, the research contract foresees the following: a gross salary (± 80,000 euros / year), a mobility allowance (3,000 euros / year), a bench fee covering the expenses linked to the supervision and the mentorship of the researcher (6,000 euros / year).

The BEWARE Fellowships 2 program (for BElgian WAllonia REsearcher) is cofunded by the Marie Actions Skłodowska-Curie of the European Commission (COFUND - contract 847587).
